Performance

When it comes to power, the Ford F-150 XLT leaves little to be desired. All entry-level versions of the Ford F-150 XLT come equipped with a 3.3-liter V6 engine that makes 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. There are a handful of optional engines, as well. Fort Lauderdale drivers interested in a bit more power can look to options like a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6, a 5.0-liter V8, and potentially even a 5.0-liter V8 engine.

The XLT also makes a host of additional performance features available via some packages. The XF4 Off-Road package allows for increased off-road capability to be added. The FX4 Off-Road trim comes with an electronic locking rear axle, hill descent control, an off-road tuned suspension, and underbody skid plates. If you're after a slightly different off-road version of the XLT, then there's the Rattler package. The Rattler package adds increased skid plates, a transfer case, front differential, and all-terrain tires.

Technology

When it comes to tech, the XLT trim makes an impressive set of standard tech offerings available. All Fort Lauderdale drivers can look forward to an 8-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, a Sync 4 voice control system, and a basic audio system. If you're interested in increasing available technology, then you'll have to opt for a higher trim level, like the Lariat.

The Lariat trim replaces the standard touchscreen display with a 12-inch touchscreen display while also adding satellite radio. The King Ranch trim level takes things a step further by adding a navigation system, an 8-speaker B&O audio system, a 400-watt AC outlet, and wireless smartphone charging. The Limited trim also ensures increased tech in the form of an 18-speaker B&O audio system, a 360-degree camera system, and Power Onboard functionality.

Safety

No matter the trim selected, the new Ford F-150 offers Hollywood, FL drivers a standard suite of driver assistance features. The standard set of driver assistance features include lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, and automatic high beams. The XLT makes some additions to the standard set of driver assistance features, too. The XLT adds blind-spot monitor, rear automatic braking, and lane keeping assistance. Of course, all trims also include classic safety equipment like seat belts and airbags.

Additional driver assistance features can be had with the F-150 by moving to an even higher trim. The King Ranch adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assistance while the Limited trim adds a 360-degree camera system.

Towing Capacity

If you're considering an F-150, then you might be interested in doing some towing. The F-150 offers up a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds while maximum payload capacity slots in at 1,785 pounds.

Interior Features

While the XLT ensures a humble but well-rounded set of interior features, there are some optional trims that can increased overall comfort. The Lariat trim, for instance, adds dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, power-adjustable pedals, remote start, and leather upholstery. The King Ranch trim boasts a serious set of interior additions, which includes a heated steering wheel, premium leather material, heated rear seats, and automatic rain-sensing wipers. The Limited trim offers Miramar, FL drivers a dual-panel moonroof, massaging front seats, unique leather upholstery, and variable steering assistance.
