The 2019 Ford Raptor is a lot of things: sporty, capable, fun to drive, and comfortable, even for a truck. Here’s a look at some of the best features that make the 2019 Raptor so special.

Capability

The 2019 Ford Raptor’s high-output 3.5-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC) EcoBoost inter-cooled twin-turbo V-6 motor offers heart-pounding excitement, putting out 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, you can conquer any terrain.

The 2019 Raptor is 500 pounds lighter than the previous model, accomplished by using a high-strength military-grade aluminum-alloy body. Set on Ford’s high-strength steel frame, the Raptor still has all the payload and towing capability you expect from a Ford truck.

The Raptor rides on BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. Off-road challenges are a breeze with the Raptor’s independent front suspension, a 4.10 rear axle with electronic locking rear differential, an available 4.10 front axle with Torsen differential, and a 4WD Terrain Management System with six selectable modes.

Driver Assist Systems

The Raptor isn’t just about off-road adventures. Ford offers a variety of driver-assist technologies on the 2019 Raptor, designed to keep you safer for those trips between excursions.

Start with the Pro Trailer Backup Assist, a feature that makes backing up easy. Simply turn the control knob in the direction you want the trailer to go and the system delivers.

A Lane Keeping system alerts you when you drift out of your lane. Drift several times and the system provides audio and visual cues that it is time to pull over, refresh yourself, and get a cup of coffee.

Ford’s available Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) will automatically alert you when a vehicle is in one of your blind spots, making changing lanes easier. Getting the BLIS with Trailer Coverage takes all the stress out of hauling that boat or trailer on the interstate.

Using radar technology, Ford’s Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking system monitors the road ahead and alerts you to potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians. If an impact becomes imminent, the system will automatically apply brake pressure to help avoid or minimize the severity of impact.

The same technology is used with the Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go system. As the traffic slows, the system automatically slows the vehicle down. When traffic resumes, the system returns your vehicle to its preset speed.

Technology

Ford Pass Connect is an app you can download that lets you do a variety of things from your smartphone, like find parking and pay in advance, monitor and schedule maintenance, and lock/unlock/remote-start your vehicle.

You can use the Ford Sync 3 AppLink and connect with Waze or Alexa. Send the Waze navigation to the vehicle’s touchscreen display and instantly see a larger view than your phone.

With so many features available on the Raptor, you need to go test drive one today and see for yourself why the Raptor is so special.
