from the heart and for the love of the food. Considering the several awards they’ve been bestowed, others obviously feel it too. Enjoy such tasty treats as fried chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, chicken pot pie, pulled pork mac stack, and much, much more. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Metro Diner has you covered no matter what your craving or the time of day.

  1. Another Broken Egg Cafe

With a focus on breakfast, brunch, and lunch, the owners of Another Broken Egg Cafe take sincere pride in their attention to detail. Since opening the first cafe back in 1996 in Mandeville, Louisiana, Another Broken Egg Cafe now has 69 locations! The restaurant is obviously doing something very right. it has traditional, beverage, kids’, seasonal, and gluten-friendly menus that include such yummy goodness as peach cobbler pancakes, crab cakes, and fried green tomatoes, salmon avocado Toast, and the Benedict burger, just to name a few.

  1. First Watch

First Watch is another breakfast, brunch, and lunch option. With a focus on fresh ingredients and a “You First” service philosophy, it’s easy to see how First Watch has blossomed to around 100 locations and earned several notable awards. You’ll find no shortage of unique menu options, including the Asian pork belly breakfast bowl, the “Chickichanga,” and lemon ricotta pancakes. You’ll also find more traditional fare, such as Belgian waffles, Cobb salad, and a Monterey club sandwich. The juice bar is a fantastic and exceedingly healthy option. With flavors such as morning meditation and kale tonic, you’ll start your day off on a healthy path.

  1. Jack’s Hollywood Diner

Jack’s Hollywood Diner, located just outside of Pembroke Pines in Hollywood, provides a trip back in time. The restaurant features an old diner car that was expanded upon to allow for the growth but still harkens back to the 1950s when Jack’s was established. A local icon, Jack’s has been featured in several movies, commercials, and magazines.

On to the food. In keeping with its founding traditions, all the soups and specials are made fresh daily, and the diner is open 24 hours a day to serve you. The menu is extensive, so you could easily start your day with the country fried steak and eggs or chocolate chip pancakes and later move on to something like the Reuben sandwich, barbecued beef ribs, or New York strip steak. It would take you quite some time to work through the entire menu.

It will be a tough decision, but kind of a fun one to make. Better yet, pace yourself and try them all. Bon appetit!
