Nitro Galactic
If you want to taste ice cream from the cold comfort of space, Nitro Galactic is as close as you can get. This space-themed ice cream shop uses liquid nitrogen to create their ice cream, and if you’ve never had it, you’re in for a treat. Order one of their Cosmic Mixes to try some of the specialties. One of our favorites is the Chocolate Cookie Constellation, which has cookie dough and Oreo mixed in with their delicious ice cream. If this is what the future of ice cream tastes like, we can’t wait.
Cream
If you’re a fan of ice cream sandwiches, head to Cream. If you’re not, you will be after trying one of their dangerously tasty creations. You choose the base of the sandwich: a huge number of cookies, brownies, waffles, or a glazed Do’sant, which is a donut and a croissant hybrid. Then choose your favorite ice cream from their great selection and a topping to get an ice cream sandwich that has all your favorite sweets in one package. Cream is one of the best places we’ve found for satisfying the most intense sweet tooth.
Vaniglia & Cioccolato
For an authentic Italian gelato, try Vaniglia & Cioccolato. Try any of their homemade flavors and see why this gelato shop is one of the most popular dessert spots in the area. They make tried-and-true flavors like chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, and more, as well as some you won’t find often, such as cinnamon and avocado. They make Italian ice cream so well here the most hardcore traditionalist will not be disappointed.
Puffles
Puffles is a relatively new ice cream shop that we’re huge fans of. If you’ve never had a Hong Kong egg waffle with ice cream, you should definitely try this place. Get a waffle cone and fill it up with their great ice cream, then choose a topping. They also have signature creations if you want to let them take the wheel. Their waffle cones are crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and always tasty.
Dairy Belle Ice Cream
If you want a classic sundae or banana split, Dairy Belle Ice Cream is your spot. Their ice cream philosophy is very “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” as you’ll see from their diner-style milkshakes, ice cream cones, and parfaits. They also have poutine, which we think pairs well with ice cream. But maybe that’s just our opinion.
