1. Luigi’s Coal Oven Pizza 

Located at 1415 E.Las Olas Boulevard, Luigi’s serves up freshly made pizza using their traditional coal oven. Chef and owner Luigi DiMeo, a native of Naples, Italy, brings his hometown traditional pizza to Fort Lauderdale. On the menu is a good selection of starters, salads, and appetizers, with the calamari being a customer favorite. There are also wings, paninis, pasta, and soups.

Pizza lovers can choose from classics such as the Napoletana, or specialties like the Truffle Pizza, or Jamie’s Pizza, which is topped with shaved prime rib eye, gorgonzola mozzarella, and caramelized onions. Their large wine list contains top wines from Italy, as well as the rest of the world.

2. DoughBoys Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant

Doughboys, located at 829 SE 17th St Causeway, is run by twin brothers whose family history in the restaurant business dates back generations. With everything made from scratch on-site using the finest ingredients, it’s no wonder this place has been a local favorite for over 35 years. The large menu features a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, croissant sandwiches, pastas, and pizzas.

Specialty pizzas include the Double Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza, Chicken Parmigiana Pie, Chicken Wing Pie, and Thai Pie, made with a super-thin crust topped with mushrooms, bell peppers, mozzarella, and a spicy Asian sauce.

3. Pizza Craft Artisan Pizzeria & Cocktail Bar

A pizzeria and cocktail bar located at 330 Himmarshee Street. Their wood-burning pizza oven cooks their handcrafted pizzas made with traditional Italian 00 flour, homemade mozzarella, and locally sourced ingredients. Alongside the pizzas, the menu features homemade pastas, weekly Italian specials, seasonal salads, and a selection of charcuterie and cheeses. Standout pizzas include the Vodka Pie, made with vodka sauce, mozzarella, shallots, pecorino, torn basil, and the Forager topped with truffle cream, mozzarella, truffle tremor, and wild mushrooms.

There’s also a full bar stocked with Italian sodas, local craft beers, and new and old world wines.  If, after your meal, you want to carry on the party, then look for the speakeasy entrance hidden inside the restaurant, just make sure you know the password.

4. Big Louie’s Pizzeria

Local chain, Big Louie’s, has been serving pizza and other Italian specialties since 1986. The large menu includes salads, appetizers, pastas, seafood, Italian dishes, hot and cold sandwiches, and of course, pizza. Their choice of specialty pizzas includes the Philly Cheesesteak, Taco, focaccia, and baked calzones.

5. Sicilian Oven

Opened in 2008, the Sicilian Oven offers an intimate and cozy environment coupled with a home-cooked meal using their wood-fired oven. The menu features a range of small dishes, perfect for sharing so that customers can sample multiple dishes and flavors. The Brooklyn pizza is Brooklyn style and topped with Cervellata Sausage, Roasted Peppers, and Onions.
