Are you thinking about purchasing the new 2018 Ford SUV but curious about their towing capacity? You’ve come to the right place! We know that most people who buy an SUV are primarily looking for the spacious interior and the many features that come along with an SUV. However, their towing capacity for others may make or break the deal! Ford has a total of seven SUV models that are able to tow and we will go right into the top three for towing. Let’s start with the 2018 Ford Explorer:

2018 Ford Explorer

The 2018 Ford Explorer is for the adventurous soul. It’s three different engine options caters to your liking from the 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder, to the 3.5L V6, and then finally to the 3.5L EcoBoost V6. The 2018 Ford Explorer can have a towing capacity between 2,000-5,000 lbs. The 2018 Ford Explorer does not disappoint and is built for entire family adventures ready to tow a trailer or camper. You can expect an easy tow with this model because they’re derived from AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control to be able to selectively brake based on weight and traction. The onboard is Curve Control also allows the vehicle to slow down to a safe speed when taking a corner too fast. This on-board has intelligent sensors to detect unsafe shifting of weight just to help you adjust your speed to a safe one when turning the corner.

2018 Ford Escape

While the 2018 Ford Escape does not have a towing capacity of up to 5,000 it does provide a maximum rating of up to 3,500 lbs which for some may be just enough. The 2018 Ford Escape has three engines, the 2.5L four-cylinder, 1.5L EcoBoost four-cylinder, and the 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder. Handling control come with AdvanceTrac and Roll Stability Control, as well as Curve Control and Torque Vectoring Control.

2018 Ford Expedition

If you’re looking for a ride that can handle more towing weight than the 2018 Ford Explorer then you should take a look at the 2018 Ford Expedition. This 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine vehicle can carry between 6,600-9,300 lbs when equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. This model features trailer sway control and just like the Explorer, has AdvanceTrac and Roll Stability Control for help when you press on your brakes.
