2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

It’s hardly a secret that for years, the Ford F-150 has been one of America’s best-selling trucks, if not the #1 best-selling truck. In many cases, where cars and trucks are concerned the credo “If it isn’t broke don’t fix it”, more than applies. That having been said, Ford has not been content to rest on its laurels where the F-150 is concerned, and so it’s continually innovating. The F-150 has benefitted from many changes over the years, including things like boxside steps, aluminum bodies for weight savings, EcoBoost engines, remote tailgates, and more. The latest innovation? The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning: an all-electric pickup truck! In a world where EVs are becoming increasingly popular, why should you choose the F-150 Lightning vs. HUMMER EV truck, or other options like the RIVIAN R1T? Pines Ford has the details, so read on or call 954.443.7000 with questions — or to schedule a test drive.

2022 Ford Lightning Specs: Performance

The Lightning is what it sounds like: fast! Power and torque both aim to impress even the most die-hard gearheads and performance enthusiasts. Think an electric truck can’t deliver on power or capability? Think again:

  • Power Output (Standard Range Model): 426 hp
  • Torque Output: 775 lb-ft of torque for Standard & Extended Range Models

2022 Ford Lightning Specs: Range & Charging

The Ford F-150 Lightning laughs in the face of “range anxiety”; indeed, with the following range estimates, there’s almost nowhere near Miramar and Hollywood your Lightning can’t take you :

  • Range with Standard Battery: 230 miles
  • Charging Time: Around 30 miles per charging hour, or 15% to 100% in eight hours*

2022 Ford Lightning Specs: Towing, Hauling, & Technology

The elephant in the room that we haven’t yet discussed is that of towing and hauling. For many Davie drivers, these specs carry a lot of weight, metaphorically of course, as they’ll use their truck to do tough jobs.

Luckily, the F-150 Lightning is no match for elephants. In fact, most Asian elephants weigh about 8,000 pounds, give or take, and African elephants can weigh as little as around 6,000 pounds, meaning that the F-150 can tow an elephant! How about that? Here are the specs you need to know:

  • Max. Towing Capacity: 10,000 lbs
  • Max. Payload: 2,000 lbs
  • Home Power Outage Charging: Assuming 30kWh of use per day, the Ford F-150 Lightning with an extended range can power your home for up to three days, or as long as around 10 days if power is rationed, with results varying based on energy usage.
  • Independent Rear Suspension: The F-150 Lightning is the first F-150 to get an independent rear suspension
  • A standard frunk (front trunk) includes plenty Lots of power outlets for charging portable devices
  • A first-ever 15.5” central touchscreen is standard inside the F-150 cabin
